Franco is titled "Caudillo de España, Por la Gracia de Dios" and is de facto the dictator of Spain. |
The State of Spain is a sovereign nation that currently owns most of Iberia, the Canary Islands, Morroco, and Andorra. The nation was formed after General Francisco Franco overthrew the Spanish Republic and established himself as the unquestioned leader of Spain.
History[]
General Francisco Franco begin a rebellion in Morroco following the election of Manuel Azaña. Backed by several other fascist powers, pro-Franco rebel groups sprung across the nation. The rebels managed to capture Sevilla, a crucial landing point for Franco's troops. Battles from the Civil War torn the country apart. Eventually, Franco managed to take Madrid and win the Civil War. With the nation devastated and the economy shattered, Franco begin his quest to rebuild Spain.
Government[]
Spain is a single party tolitarian dictatorship lead by Francisco Franco. A legaislature does exist, however it's decisions can be overruled by Franco. A Prime Minister spot also exist but is occupied by Franco. The fiercly anti-communist government rules from a large palace in Madrid over it's large population of 51 million. Various governates exist across the country, all puppets of Franco.
Economy[]
The Spanish economy was shattered and inflated after the Civil War, with many key industries destroyed. Sevilla serves as Spain's primary port, importing and exporting most goods. Primary exports include iron, coal, copper, and salt. Imports include timber, concrete, and gravel. Small companies such as Ricardo Frank Inc and High Ridge Beverages and large companies such as Nanvantia thrive under Franco's capitalistic-conservative policies.
Social Class[]
Spanish society consist of 4 classes: Lower Class, Working Class, Upper Class, and Government members.
Lower Class[]
The most common class in Spanish society. Includes farmers, factory workers, miners, road builders, and servants. The Civil War left the economy in severe inflation, brining even Upper Class members into this class. Most people in this class work for the government-funded ¡Levantarse, España! project (literally translates to Get up, Spain!), which seeks to rebuild the wartorn Spain.
Working Class[]
The second most common class in Spain, this class consist of higher paid workers, such as teachers, doctors, policemen, and soldiers. People in this class can afford to have a house in a suburban neighborhood and support a fairly large family.
Upper Class[]
The rich people of Spain. This class consist of buisness owners, estate sellers, high ranking soldiers, and scientist. Although some choose to have quiet villas on the shore, most live in large houses in various suburbs.
Government members[]
By far the rarest and most elite social class in Spain, this class's members, as it's name suggest, consist of government members such as governers, mayors, legislature, and Franco himself. Above the law, they can do what they wish without the authoritian government constantly watching them like it does with the other 3 classes. The only person who has real power on them within Spain is the leader, Francisco Franco.
Military[]
The Spanish military is fairly weak due to the civil war. However, the military employs guerrilla tatics to defeat any invading army. Most of the army's supplyment and funding comes from it's authoritian ally Germany. Although it currently has no action, it gaurds the French-Spanish border carefully.
